The SelectTech GeoSpatial (SG) Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF) is designed to transform ideas to reality. The first step in this transformation is capturing the concept, and the AMF is optimized to do this. We take a unique approach where we intentionally focus on concept capabilities and de-emphasize product features. Our goal at this phase of development is to capture the concept's goals, what should the concept do rather than how are we going to do it.

We developed an interactive environment for concept development that lets us push the envelope and clearly define a project’s goals. During this process nothing is off the table. We utilize multiple techniques from simply talking ideas out, whiteboarding, bringing people with multi-disciplinary backgrounds into the conversation both physically and virtually, locally and remotely, quick sketches and diagramming (frequently using solid modeling capabilities in real time), to role playing – and several other technology tools that fosters innovation.

Once we have the concept’s goals and capabilities nailed down we start to bring the concept to life. This is when the design phase of product development takes over.
