Advanced Design Process

Bringing a concept to life happens during the design process. It’s during this phase of development that we apply reality to concepts. The SelectTech GeoSpatial (GS) Advanced Manufacturing Process (AMF) applies unique and time proven processes to this step. The first attempt is to take the easy road –- what technologies, products, and processes already exist that we can leverage to achieve the concept goals. We review the solutions that were used with similar concepts. Then armed with the state-of-the-art review, and our own experience and knowledge we start creating a design.

To create effective designs we have aggressively sought the most advanced solid modeling packages running on heavily customized workstations in an environment dedicated to design. Our designers generate creative solutions which are reviewed and refined by a group of engineers including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, process engineers, and manufacturing personnel so the final design is valid and sound, and all affected parties understand the challenges the lie ahead.

Throughout this process we never lose contact with the customer or the concept. Our design environment includes an interactive capability that allows the customer to be immersed in the design, or if the customer can’t come to our facility we bring it to them via collaboration technologies and web conferencing. This includes the customer in the design process and keeps the customer involved in the evolution of the solution.
